Star of Cal State Fullerton, Estonia, China, and basketball courts everywhere, Josh Akognon joins me to talk about chasing his NBA dreams, his values, and how the road to the pros moves along for a top scoring point guard. I thank Josh for taking a few minutes to catch up for a little 1-on-1 this morning. Josh led the Kings in scoring during summer camp and hopes to acquire a roster spot on an NBA team for the upcoming 2012-2013 NBA season. Enjoy. Really glad to have had the chance to catch up  with him as we both chase our dreams and continue our careers. Josh is one of the most lights-out shooters I have ever seen, and I hope to see him in the NBA very soon. Read more about our chat here. Thanks for listening!

From Chaz Bono, setting an engagement date, to Aaron Thompson, good times. Roger thinks the Maloofs in Sacramento are crazy, I disagree. We also critique my phone answering abilities. Lots of fun on a Friday in January! Plus roger Lodge says my over-exasperated Fullerton play by play call is the best ever. Big credit to James Allen for excellent Thompson sound engineering.

Titan Basketball broadcasts were so much fun, and we got to re-live the excitement of the November 2009 upset of the UCLA Bruins at Pauley Pavillion on the Sports Lodge on AM 830 KLAA with Roger Lodge. Big thanks to Brett Parmenter and Alex Jaich for being a part of that broadcast. Ironically Barbara Walters retirement announcement in the top ten stories of the morning sparked the entire conversation. Lots of fun with the excrutiatingly exciting Titan win from 2009, one of my favorite college memories. Enjoy!

Wednesday night the Titans of Cal State Fullerton continued their quest for an NCAA tournament berth by showing the door to the CU Northridge Matadors,  who will not be able to repeat their appearance in the NCAA Tournament again this year.

First year Titan Jer'Vaughn Johnson stepped into the Anaheim Convention Center on a mission with an efficient double double leading Fullerton one step closer to a bid to March Madness.  Sharing the ball became key in spreading the scoring down the stretch with key assists from Gerard Anderson leading the way.  Jacques Streeter also adjusted his role by adding 7 rebounds to his 12 points.

Northridge struggled throughout the game to find a pace they could control the game.  A big game by Vincent Cordell including a double double of his own kept the Matadors motivated but was ultimately unable to slow his defensive assignment.  One of the problems was bench player Kenny Daniels taking a team leading 15 shots while failing to find his shot. To the contrary Fullerton's Devon Peltier drained five triples to boost the scoring of the starters.

The game was lost by CSUN by the mid point of the second half, despite a powerful comeback with 3 minutes left in the game.

If you are a college student like me, cooking can be a real chore. Between the rush of classes, taking tests, and turning in homework, it can be hard to find the time to cook and eat proper meals with sufficient nutrition. I have always been fond of the mixing and blending of foods, and have found this much easier to do with my new Omelet Pans. I can mix in fresh vegetables, meats, and cheeses, and be sure I get enough protein and calcium to start my day out right. It is also a great tool for entertaining guests as well, you can host a holiday buffet bar where friends and family can choose their ingredients. All of the omelet dishes can be made easily with the omelets pans sold at, check them out today and find your favorite omelets today. Throw in a Waffle Maker and host the best holiday breakfasts of all time.

Cal State Fullerton, which is ranked fourth by Baseball America, defeated Utah on Sunday night in front of a packed house at Goodwin Field in Fullerton, California.

The Utes finish their season with a 28-31 record while Fullerton (45-14) moves on to the Super Regional round. This marks the tenth trip to Super Regionals for Cal State Fullerton.

Fullerton freshman Tyler Pill earned his 11th win, only allowing three runs over eigh innings. For Utah, Stephen Streich (2-4) took the loss, allowing eight earned runs on 10 hits in four innings of work.

While the pitching was solid, it was the offense that propelled the Titans to victory.

Utah put up an impressive eight hits during the game, led by two hits from Michael Beltran. Utah player C.J. Cron drove in two of the Utes runs, he also smacked a solo home run to right field in the fourth inning to score first for Utah.

The Titans were on fire all night however, led by Khris Davis who finished with three hits, including a pair of home runs. A milestone was reached by Head Coach Dave Serrano, who earned his 200th career coaching victory as the Titans earned their ticket to the Super Regional round with a 16-3 victory. The packed house at Goodwin Field supported the offensive onslaught and players gave credit to the Orange Curtain after the game for adding extra enthusiasm to push the Titans into Super Regionals.

Three titans had three hits each, and every starter took a base at least once during this contest.

The Titans now wait to face Louisville next weekend. Louisville comes in ranked 12, Cal State Fullerton at 2. The Cardinals have matched a school record for wins in a single season this year with 47. Coming off an impressive victory against Vanderbilt at Jim Patterson Field, Louisville has momentum coming across the country to meet their Orange County opponents.

This series will get underway Friday at Goodwin field, at 10:03 Eastern time, and will be broadcast on ESPN2.

Louisville head coach Dan McDonnell is optimistic about his team’s chances, but the Titans will prove to be a formidable road block on the road to the 2009 College World Series. McDonnell is hoping that Junior Adam Duvall will take the reigns and develop leadership potential as the postseason continues. The series will continue on Saturday at 5:00 PM, and finish up Sunday at 10:00 PM.

Akognon drops the biggest game of his career in a win against the Highlanders of UC Riverside. Fullerton's Quest for the 2009 NCAA Tournament Continues Tonight College Basketball Heats Up Out West By Danny Hauger After Josh Akognon's redemption Wednesday night with 37 points leading the Titans to victory, two more games separate the Titans from a repeat visit to the 2009 March Madness Tournament.

Akognon's 37 point performance included a record 9 three point baskets, and starter Ray Miller led the defensive stance which held Riverside to a stifled second half, as the Titans coasted to victory. The Orange Curtain in attendance had enough volume to compensate for a lack of class as vigorous taunts and chants of MVP for the #1 jersey in blue and orange.

Tonight's match-up brings UC Santa Barbara with a new set of challenges. UCSB finished 5th in conference, with an overall record of 15-14. Santa Barbara and Fullerton both had mediocre years in conference, but one game changing performance could likely be the difference tonight. The Big West Tournament is in full swing in Anaheim, California.

Will Fullerton Rise to the Occasion of TItans? It's been a long, and at times frustrating journey for the Titans of Cal State Fullerton. After last year's success of sharing the Big West Conference league championship, making to the March Madness Tournament for the first time in 30 years, and watching alumni Bobby Brown succeed in the Big West NCAA Men's Basketball Kicks Off Tonight Date: March 12, 2009 Anaheim, CA United States of America ranks of professionals with the Sacramento Kings, expectations for this year were higher than ever in CSUF's history.

Such high expectations have sometimes placed a lens of doubt around this year's younger, and sometimes floundering squad. With individual talent sometimes surpassing the need for team play, the Titans have struggled to reamin at .500 and failed to protect their home court at Titan Gym. NBA talk over star senior Joshua Akognon has come and gone, and may spark again if the senior leader can rally his team starting tonight. Akognon is a rare find, a tremendous scorer with a great attitude on and off the court. He's a focused individual and has his head screwed on straight, though perhaps he should move it left or right and pass the ball off more often than fading away from 23 feet.

Team mate development from Jacques Streeter, Gerard Anderson, and Aaron Thompson have lately picked up a lot of responsibility sharing and the team has since developed a breadth of weapons to dissuade som of the pressure from their captain's shoulders. Shot blocker Ray Miller and Marcio Lassiter have also brought energy at times from the bench to make the difference in key wins this year.

Tonight's match-up against the Bruins of U.C. Riverside will test the team offense of Fullerton, which needs this game, and the Big West Tournament, if they want a shot at the big time this year, and if Akognon is to have a true chance of becoming an NBA draft pick.
