2013 June

Father’s Day 2013 at Angel Stadium, an Anaheim ARC program beneficiary Danny is enjoying a ballgame with his mother, son, and daughter. In the bottom of the 9th inning, the Yankees have a 6-1 lead with David Robertson on the mound facing Angels second baseman Howie Kendrick. Watch the slideshow here! What an inspiring moment!

On a 2-2 count, Howie drives a foul ball deep down the first base line and foul. Danny catches the ball and gives it to his daughter, lifting her onto his shoulders. What a beautiful moment celebrating Father’s Day, sobriety, change, and life.

Danny tells his story in this slideshow, walking us through a day at the ballpark on Father’s Day 2013, which his daughter so aptly called, “The Best Day Ever”.

In between, Real and dreaming,
In between what I hope that you've seen in me too.
I give clues, You confuse me. I hope you've seen what I want you to see in me too.
I want you, I want you here.
I want you and there's nothing I can ever do.
I see you there, and you're with him.
I try not to stare but I am mesmerized by,
Your look and you're hair, and you're stare that says

I want you,

I want you here.
I want you and there's nothing I can ever do.
I hear it’s done, I hear its over, And when you're free I would like to come over And tell you everything that he did wrong.
I want you, I want you here.
I want you and there's nothing I can ever do. I want you, I want you.

Enjoy this brand new demo from Danny Hauger music. Recorded during 3 of the quarters of game 3 of the NBA Finals, which has absolutely nothing to do with this recording, other than it made me miss most of the game. The song derives from the thinnest crescent moon I had ever seen in Southern California on June 10th, visible only on the right side of the moon from the Northern hemisphere. I'm enjoying the harmonies and subtle backing guitar tracks on this unplugged recording. Feel free to share, its a free mp3 download, no sign up necessary, want to hear more of my music? Lyrics - The Thinnest Moon by Danny Hauger

Waxing and waning moon Mid night and after noon Awaiting lunar phase To guide me through this maze

The intervals you grow Are not for me to know With Venus by your side To be your guiding light

With every shape you take, every ellipse you make Your speed defines my mood My every loss and good

The thinnest moon to guide me home The thinnest moon to make my own

For if my sight by sun Makes me the only one Walking in darkness in blinds Standing free of sunshine

The thinnest moon to guide me home The thinnest moon to make me whole

And if I should go, Would you let let me know? Would you guide me home? Would you let me go?
