If you love every amusement park, you will surely want to stay away from grant and Danny's Theme Park Land in the heart of nowhere.  Attractions abound that attract no one.  tune in and find out what makes this park one not to be forgotten on your next vacation. Don't miss Man Wolf, the wolf with the face of a man.

Worst or least favorite?

Least favorite would be one I don't have to go again (even if free) and sorry, but that has to be DCA. Doesn't mean it's the worst though, as we did enjoy the two trips there. Just has no attraction for me when there are other places to go.

The theme park at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas has got to be one of the worst. Too hot, too empty, lame rides... is it still open?

No, the MGM park is not open anymore.

I haven't been to a park that I didn't like. I am a big time enthusiast, I can find something to like about any park. Now, some are better than others but I have yet to visit one that I just hate!

The Six Flags parks are the worst "theme" parks because they contain very little themeing at all. They are great amusement parks where you go to find state-of-the-art throw-up or extreme rides but there is very little themeing involved.

The Disney parks, Knott's Berry Farm and Universal Parks are much better examples of parks with true "themeing"

Bad Humor Follows Chile Mine Workers Rescued, as we speak a capsule brings each minor back to the surface one by one.  To follow this momentous occasion, enjoy some original groaners here before the media takes them and claims them all.

SAN JOSE MINE, Chile – The miners who spent 69 agonizing days deep under the Chilean earth were hoisted one by one to freedom Wednesday, their rescue moving with remarkable speed while their countrymen erupted in cheers and the world watched transfixed.

Beginning at midnight and sometimes as quickly as once every 40 minutes, the men climbed into a slender cage nearly a half-mile underground and made a smooth ascent into fresh air. By early afternoon, more than half the men — 19 of 33 — had been rescued.

In a meticulously planned operation, they were monitored by video on the way up for any sign of panic. They had oxygen masks, dark glasses to protect their eyes from unfamiliar daylight and sweaters for the jarring climate change, subterranean swelter to the chillier air above. Brett and Danny get together for a little chat about job seeking, scams in the workplace, part time, freelancing, and making ends meet after college.  We discuss the joys of free time, managing a social life with a job,  and the embarrassments that come along with the early 20's in a recessed job market.

Its a time capsule for October 2010, and some dialogue about what its like trying to work towards your goals when so few goals are open to shoot for.

On the evening of Sunday, October the 3rd, the Los Angeles ANgels of season were given their tickets home from Arlington after a 6-2 win led by Dan Haren who finished with a 12-12 record and brilliant end of the season stretch.

Matsui's 21st home run of the season raised new questions of whether he would return in 2011.  Peter Bourjos added his fifth home run of the year to give the team the lead for the game at 3-2 mid way through.

The return of Kendry Morales and considerable question marks in the outfield will lead many fans curious into the off-season as to who will take the field in 177 days on opening day of the 50th anniversary season.

Enjoy this 2010 wrap up podcast.  Music by Danny Hauger, "Keychain" intro and "Again" outro.

Anticipation was rewarded this week with the new album from the Gin Blossoms, No Chocolate Cake.  This excellent revival of Alternative Rock brings all the reflection and emotions we've come to expect from the bank that has stayed most consistent to its original and identifiable sound.  No Chocolate Cake endorses the tracing guitar lines of Jesse Valenzuela and Scott Johnson that separate and unite simultaneously with the tender harmonies of the two vocalists that have inspired decades of brilliant tunes.  With suck subtle genius of "Something Real", and all of the pop jangle bite of the single, "Miss Disarray", the Gin Blossoms release an album which does what few bands can today, make you feel.  The phrasing and instrumental works of many of the ballads bring back feelings of the 90's and inner thought that allow good feelings to come from difficult situations.  Danny Hauger score: 8.5/10.

Few bands that enjoyed success during the post-grunge alternative clustered 1990's decade have been able to continue creating great music and touring as successfully as the melodic and transcendent Gin Blossoms of Tempe, Arizona. Their previous release, Major Lodge Victory, while greatly under appreciated by the mass media and radio play list automation, carried a similar energy and originality that could be appreciated from start to finish reminiscent of master works New Miserable Experience and Congratulations I'm Sorry. Now returning with No Chocolate Cake, the Gin Blossoms continue to offer fans and critics more of their excellent harmonies, wide vocal range, and tracing guitar lines to accent the upbeat rhythm and California - Arizona sound brand that represents a continuity of musical excellence that has remained true to its core since their earliest offerings that redefined the alternative rock genres.

No Chocolate Cake is the 5th studio album for the group No Chocolate Cake

Track listing:

  1. "Don't Change for Me"
  2. "I Don't Want to Lose You Now"
  3. "Miss Disarray"
  4. "Wave Bye Bye"
  5. "I'm Ready"
  6. "Somewhere Tonight"
  7. "Go Crybaby"
  8. "If You'll Be Mine"
  9. "Dead or Alive on the 405"
  10. "Something Real"
  11. "Goin' to California"

The Gin Blossoms recently announced the release of their new studio album, "No Chocolate Cake," in stores September 28, 2010
