Recording in Houston, Texas, live from the JW Marriott lobby, hope it reaches you well and in a period of happiness. Today I am broadcasting the last Stanford baseball game against Rice in a 4 game series from Houston. Stanford leads the series so far 2-1.

Tomorrow, Monday, I am starting a long term sub position as a teacher at the middle school level. This podcast was recorded as a sort of live journal documenting the transition from broadcasting to teaching. Its a short one, but it may give you a chance to think about your path and maybe draw a few productive conclusions, I thought it was worth sharing here on the podcast.

Its a new month, feels like that happens every several weeks or so... new place for us! We've been moving, and lifting, and putting down. Descriptive right?

This week I bring you one of my favorite interviews of all time,

featuring the voice of NBA Jam and many more - Tim Kitzrow.

Also news of a new gig! Tuesday March 17th, 2015 celebrating St. Patrick's Day at Lone Tree Country Club in Antioch! 6:00-9:00 PM #acoustic set! For more info follow me on Twitter @DannyHauger!

Honestly one of my favorite voices of all time, Tim Kitzrow, the voice over and announcer hero from NBA Jam, NFL Blitz, Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey, and dozens more video games from the arcade and home consoles. My audio here graciously takes time for an interview with me in February of 2012. Tim recently has re-released his "on fire" audio specialties with thousands of brilliant lines in the new NBA Jam: On Fire Edition that is downloadable on your next-generation system at home. From MLB Slugfest through NFL Blitz & NBA Jam, few people have been more notable voices in sports entertainment, and it is a pleasure to bring you this interview courtesy of Tim Kitzrow.

Tim Kitzrow

P.S. video game lovers - NFL Blitz was the top selling game for PSN in January, and that Jam "On fire edition" was the top game in it's release month back in October/November.  Check out his  Facebook page! NBA Jam Some questions in this interview include:

-Tell us about the genesis of NBA JAM with Mark Turmel in Chicago. -What game do you prefer playing? Modern graphics and high definition, or the logoless jerseys and squeaking court shoes of the original? - You have over 20 credits to your name, aside from NBA Jam, what are you most proud of? -What was your writing process like? -favorite NBA player all-time -Favorite NBA team all-time -Who excites you in the modern NBA game? -If you could take the experience lines of three resumes from any people, who would you choose? -What would you tell yourself at age 24 if you could speak to yourself now?

Tim took time to visit with me on Wednesday, February 15th, 2012, to talk the genesis of NBA Jam with Mark Turmel, the recording process, writing for video games, and the classics we grew up with and continue to enjoy today.  With that - the Boomshakalaka man himself, Tim Kitzrow.

Have a great week everybody!

The Green Bay Packers sent themselves home today with a comeback win on the hands of the Seattle Seahawks. Saturday they did not have a clue what would happen in their big game against the very tough to beat at home Seahawks, and Sunday brought a Russell Wilson who could not complete a pass until it mattered most.

I also learned from this game to be ready, or life will hit you in the face, just like Green Bay tight end Brandon Bostick, sorry Brandon, but man, you’ll remember that play forever I bet.

Another memorable moment was when I interviewed Scott Johnson of the gin Blossoms on Titan Radio in 2009. Enjoy this interview talking about one of my favorite bands that continues to tour and make wonderful music today.

Better luck next year Packer fans.

My new Danny Hauger album will be out this March! We open this podcast with a short listen in to, “Once and Never Again”.

It was on New Year's Day of a few years ago that I wrote the acoustic instrumental song, "Simplify". It was sort of a New Year's Resolution without words, which was perfect for fulfilling without fail. I liked the tune a lot and it was a one take recording. It was recorded at my old studio in Fullerton, CA right before I went out to perform live in downtown. I played the song live and it went over just as well. Hope you enjoy this free song from my archives!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone, everywhere! I have been suffering a fever of large scale, and today being the first full day off, gave me a chance to sit down and record some music with about half of my breath capacity available. I decided to sit and strum through some classic Christmas songs.

I recorded an up-beat and acoustic version of "Silent Night", really love the solo. Really liked the way it came out. Wishing you and yours the best this holiday season, be something good for someone else this year!

After a very nice performance by my Martinez Jr High Bullpups, I came home to my studio and fired up a guitar progression and began working with the lyrics of being the lamb to my lion. It caught on in my head. One of those lyrical statements that would not be ignored and needed to be recorded immediately.

I got to work, and 2 hours later, this demo was finished, and stamped ready for my next March 2015 album release. Its a free mp3, and I hope you enjoy it and send it to some friends!

Lamb to My Lion lyrics / /12/9/14 / /Capo 2

Are you the lamb, to my lion?
Are you the match for my desire
And will you strike for the fire
Or leave me cold and wet outside

I am the one who sheltered your sun,
Who saw your light revealed
I watched you grow, i watched your entire
Always admired your shine

Are you the lamb, to my lion?
Are you the match for my desire
And will you strike for the fire
Or leave me cold and wet outside

One of my favorite interviews that I have recorded was with Glen Phillips from Toad the Wet Sprocket. I had been a  huge fan of the band and Glen's solo records, including Mr. Lemons, which you can hear from my link below this text. Glen is a fountain of inspiration, wit, knowledge, and experience from decades of music playing, a tragic setback in the form of a physical injury from falling through a glass table, and a good example of a songwriter still focused on his art.

Grateful and inspired by Glen Phillips last night at City Winery Napa! Always great to learn from a master songwriter with witty banter, excellent singing, and well crafted guitar work.

I hope you enjoy this talk with Danny Hauger from Cal State Fullerton Titan Radio at the time, and Glen Phillips, one of my 5 favorite songwriters of all time. Support Glen, and me! Use the Amazon links below! Thanks for listening!

On Election Day, 2014, not being able to vote because I just moved and apparently the registration deadline in Contra Costa County was October 20th, which would have been nice to know ahead of time - - - -but i digress, before I even get started. So on Election Day I sat down with my guitar to vote with a new demo. I know, doesn't make much sense.

My new Fender acoustic electric guitar (T Bucket) and I arranged our first song recording together. A tender moment for sure, love the look of this new guitar by the way...

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRKmqjAyvnW1uDfehdBsmO

I sat down with a chord progression in mind before i picked up the guitar. This is maybe the only time I have ever pre-conceived of a sound before strumming it out. It led to a pretty quick rhythm recording, maybe two takes.

Then I added in some lead guitar, stayed acoustic, and stayed unprocessed. No pre-amp, just a live microphone recording the room. What came out was a nearly complete instrumental work. But I felt like applying some songwriting to it and began some lyrics which were completed with concept in mind in about 20 minutes.

I liked the sound and feel a lot, similar to other songs from the Danny Hauger archives, but different enough to add to the track listing for the upcoming album. Grab it now, for free, as a thank you for visiting, sharing, and supporting my music!
