Protools crashed on me last week but I managed a new song to download for the better. A familiar notion to music recorders and producers. Repairing... not so easy. As a positive result comes this new instrumental reflection tune, something for a "Songs to Fall Asleep To", or just a free download. "Forgetting a Dream is two song notions in one, the aspects of a dream you can remember when you wake up, and the second half - the breaking of chain of thought - and blunderance of memory remnants, getting weaker by the second. This song is a bit ethereal, sounds like something from the last album, but was recording spontaneously and took one track per take, or the other way around...

Here is that song, recorded on poorly patched and stepped-on-by-cat cables. Which I thought came out fine enough to share. Enjoy the free download below, share with your friends, and visit often. Thanks for coming!

Hey everybody, what a wild week on Angels Radio AM 830. The halos have gone from being seemingly out of the race to on the verge of the Wild Card. Haren dominated the Jay's Wednesday night. He picked up his 16th win of the season (matching a career high), and helped build momentum that was smacking the ball out of the Rogers Centre.

Then a loss Thursday evening in the 12th inning to an Edwin Encarnacion walk-off doused the red hot Angel bats. Now the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers represent the final two series match-ups in 2011. The Angels bullpen was strong with Scott Downs and Jordan Walden pitching multiple innings. Garrett Richards retired two strong batters including Jose Bautista but gave up the winning run to Encarnacion ending the game.

Boston is playing the Yankees this weekend as the Blue Jays visit the Rays (2 GB of Boston). No more room to wiggle, its time for the Angels to win for the best chance to control their own destiny.

Tried and tested Jered Weaver (18-7, 2.41 ERA) will take the mound at home for the Angels Friday night to face off against Gio Gonzalez (14-12, 3.33 ERA) for Oakland. Gonzalez is 2-1 in his last three starts with 14 punch outs. Weaver is outstanding lately, 2-0 with a 1.71 ERA and the same 14 strikeouts in his last three starting appearances. The door is open for Weaver to grab his first 20 win season against Oakland and Texas.

What to listen for: Home support. The Angels return from a road trip and need to hear the home crowd motivation. These next six games are the playoffs until proven otherwise. Listen for big game atmosphere as the chips fall for the 2011 MLB postseason.

Seattle enters Texas but the Rangers need only two more wins to remove the Angels from the American League West pennant race. The Angels now need to continue their winning ways, forget about Thursday's loss, and do as much as possible to make a play for the AL Wild Card.

Distinguished Rookie: Mark Trumbo has his own proving grounds in the remaining games. If he can outshine historical records of Tim Salmon and current birlliance of Ivan nova he may be able to garner enough respect to earn the AL Rookie of the Year Award.

Friday night's broadcast begins at 5:00 PM PST with Jose Mota and Jason Brennan for Angels Today on AM 830 and www.am830.net streaming. Terry Smith takes over for Angel Warm-Up at 6:00. First pitch scheduled for 7:05 from Angel Stadium, on Angels Radio AM 830 KLAA.

The bats showed up in Baltimore!

Sunday’s blowout performance, an 11-2 Angels victory wrapping the Baltimore Orioles series, was a welcome sight after Friday and Saturday losses to the O’s. Erick Aybar was absolutely stunning with two home runs, a feat he had never before achieved. Aybar scored five times in the game and drove in four runs with his own bat.

Now the momentum needs to continue. Ten games remaining. No more wiggle room. Four games in Toronto, Canada start Monday afternoon. Cal State Fullerton grad Ricky Romero (15-10) takes the mound for the Blue Jays.

Tune in all four games to Angels Radio AM 830 KLAA.

Steve Carroll carries Angels Today at 2:00 PM PST (and online at www.am830.net).

Terry Smith follows with Angel Warm-Up at 3:00 PM.

First pitch from Toronto at 4:07.

Happy Thursday AM 830 listeners, time for a series preview in our Angels Radio AM 830 Blog. This weekend the Angels fly to Camden Yards to play three with the Baltimore Orioles.

In the Key of D: Defensive plays kept the Angels in striking range with Joel Pineiro and Jerome Williams on the mound this week. Erick Aybar and Howie Kendrick have turned more than five double plays in the last three games to assist in close games. The Angels are positioned 3 games behind the Texas Rangers Thursday afternoon.

Thank Kendrick: Two home runs for Howie Kendrick on Tuesday night helped seal a contested rubber match with the Athletics in the third and seventh innings. Kendrick has gone through several hot streaks this season leading to his career high 21 home runs.

Dan Haren will start the first game of the Orioles series Friday. Haren's slider and cut fastball looked sharp last time out and Baltimore's Hunter has a similar approach to his pitch selection. These two should set the pace for a competitive series in Maryland. Santana and Weaver on short rest are the probable pitchers over the weekend for Los Angeles.

What to Listen for: On Wednesday Jered Weaver kept the crowd completely out of the game. Dan Haren should continue to avoid walking batters from the start to induce pressure on the hitting lineup of the Orioles.

Tune in to Angels Radio AM 830 at 2:00 PM PST for Angels Today with Steve Carroll (and streaming at www.am830.net) Following Steve is Terry Smith with Angels Warm-Up at 3:00. Then its game time with Terry Smith and Jose Mota at 4:05. Call us after the game for Angel Talk at 877-8-830-830. All season long, Angels Radio, AM 830 KLAA.

Based on the past two series against the Rangers, I'm not sure you can say that the Angels have an advantage going into that final series against Texas. If anything, I hope they can pad something of a lead in the AL West so they can lose a couple games and still be okay.

Hopefully Scioscia will put away his bag of tricks and not go starting pitchers on three days rest. Reply 0 likes Options

Danny Hauger posted just now

We'll see how three days rests results with Weaver again. I think he may be the guy to handle it best because of his youth and peaking in his development (although Santana was the only pitcher to win on three days rest this year). AS noted, it would have been ideal to sweep New York and Oakland, and the Angels did not, Rangers win again on 9-15, and their lead is 3.5 games back. It will be tough, advantage Texas, agreed. Thanks Seth!

Good read man. I feel pretty confident the Rangers will clinch before the final three-game stand at the "Big A." You're right, though, that pitching staff is amazing. I really feel like Chatwood is going to be a solid rotation contributor in the future as well. If you guys still had Napoli, I think you'd have a shot to catch us... Reply 0 likes

Danny Hauger posted just now

Thanks Timothy! I agree Chatwood is a rotation pitcher, possibly at the start of next season. He has a good head on his shoulders having chatted several times in the locker room. Napoli has proved himself better than a one year fluke and is a real asset to have hitting from the catcher slot. It will be very tough for the Angels to make it in the AL West but now sit only 4 games out of the Wild Card...

Hello from Oakland everyone! Danny Hauger here with your Monday Angels AM 830 Blog!

Down and Out in Oakland: Sunday night the Oakland Athletics were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs by the Texas Rangers. They sit 16 1/2 games out with only 16 remaining games to play. Don't count on the A's rolling over any time soon though. The Mariners were evidence of that splitting the last four game series with the Angels. The A's are 44-60 since their May hot streak ended.

Pineiro Needed Down the Stretch: Joel Pineiro's 6-6 record has been a mixture if success and let downs. His ERA sits at 5.11. When Joel keeps his breaking pitches down his efficiency is at an optimum level. The fourth and fifth startes in the rotation will likely determine the likelihood of tracking down the American League West leading Texas Rangers, still ahead 2 1/2 games as of Monday afternoon.

Who's Stepping to the Plate: Peter Bourjos added a two run home run yesterday, while Jeff Mathis and Maicer Izturis was clutch against New York. Role player contributions from Howie Kendrick, Erick Aybar, and Hank Conger will all need to produce to help gain ground to Texas.

What to Listen for: Yesterday's crowd was roaring for the conclusion of the Yankees series. Listen closely tonight for the sounds of silence at the ballpark in Oakland. The Angels will need to motivate each other and focus on fundamentals to gain a win or a sweep against the Athletics.

Tune in to Angels Radio AM 830 at 5:00 for Angels Today with Steve Carroll (and streaming at www.am830.net) Following Steve is Terry Smith with Angels Warm-Up at 6:00. Then its game time with Terry Smith and Jose Mota at 7:05. Call us after the game for Angel Talk at 877-8-830-830. All season long, Angels Radio, AM 830 KLAA.

The shared history of the Yankees and Angels make for an anticipated series anytime the two franchises meet on the field. Join us on Angels Radio, AM 830, for what is sure to be another memorable series.

Mark Rubin of the New York Daily News was the guest of Roger Lodge in The Sports Lodge this morning (Monday through Friday from 7-10 AM PST and on www.am830.net) talking about the big weekend with the New York Yankees in town to face the Los Angeles Angels. Rubin tipped us off that the captain Derek Jeter may only be about 70% condition heading into the weekend series.

Bartolo Colon takes the mound tonight having revamped and then rescinded lately in his extensive career to face Angels ace Jered Weaver. These games take on a high premium for the halos trying to reduce the 2 1/2 game Texas Rangers lead in the American League West. "I have to establish fastball command and put my offspeed stuff in good locations," Weaver said. "Obviously, that's always the challenge, especially against a team like the Yankees with all their weapons." (Jason Mastrodonato / MLB.com). Weaver will take to the mound with a sense of urgency Friday evening.

Minor League Player of the Year Mike Trout will be key in the series having been a source of energy and excitement to match his outfield mate Peter Bourjos. Those two young bats will be important as veteran Yankee pitchers come into Angels Stadium this weekend.

What to Listen For: The final call. The Angels have won 10 of their last 12 games at home and are 27-10 at Angel Stadium since June 13. T

Weekend Series Won: The Angels got help Sunday from Joel Pineiro's best start of the 2011 season and Jordan Walden's 28th save of the year for a 4-1 victory and series win over the Minnesota Twins. Pineiro gave up only five hits and one run from a solo home run courtesy Joe Mauer's second of the year.

Pitching Predictions: Anthony Vazquez has accomplished a lot at age 25 but has shown inexperience on the mound with runners in scoring position. Vazquez took the loss on August 30th after a difficult outing. Look for the veteran Dan Haren to establish himself early if the Angels can secure control of the game by inning four.

Calm Olivo and Smoak: These two Mariners have hot bats and motivation despite the playoff positioning of their team.  Their ability to extend at bats and clean up in key situations define the success of the Mariners.

Speed and Control: Youth has been a spark for the Angels. Bourjos, Trumbo, Walden, and new September call ups must all be ready when called on to deliver. Taking advantage of big opportunities will be crucial to chasing down the 3.5 game Texas lead in the American League West.

Labor Day Baseball: The Mariners face the Angels again with a 6:05 first pitch time (PST) on Angels Radio, AM 830. Angels Today with Steve Carroll and Jose Mota begins at 4:00 on air and online at www.am830.net streaming live.

Angels Warm-Up follows at 5:00.

Tuesday and Wednesday game times are 7:05. Thursday is an off day before the Angels host the Yankees for a very patriotic weekend series.

Angels Beat Seattle 4-3 and split series. Through a somewhat wild win for Ervin Santana protected by Torii Hunter and Howie Kendrick home runs the Los Angeles Angels pulled off a 4-3 victory in Seattle to split a four game series with the Mariners.

Rosters Expand: Thursday the Angels summoned four players from their Triple-A Salt Lake Bees team: pitcher Horacio Ramirez, infielder Andrew Romine, first baseman Efren Navarro and outfielder Jeremy Moore.

When speaking about the expansion Angels Manager Mike Scioscia said, "There's going to be roles for everybody who comes up." There will likely be more moves made after the Bees finish up their regular season.

SEATTLE -- How good are the Angels on the road? Even with a 2 game split the offensive numbers carried the two victories for the Angels in Seattle.

Offense Solid: After homers by Torii Hunter and Howard Kendrick sent them flying out of the chute, the Angels bullpen with Bobby Cassevah and Scott Downs pulled through 4-3, on Thursday night to split a four-game series at Safeco Field. A Rangers victory kept the Halos 3 1/2 games behind in the American League West.

Torii Towering: Torii Hunter has hit safely in 31 of his past 34 games, and is starting September with a bang after hitting .366 in August.

Home for the Twins: Minnesota enters Angel Stadium for three games through the weekend. Carl Pavano will start opposite Angels rookie Tyler Chatwood.

Angels Today with Steve Carroll begins at 5:00 PM PST on Angels Radio AM 830 (and streaming on www.am830.net)

Then its Angels Warm-Up with Terry Smith at 6:00, and first pitch at 7:05.
